Rock for Todd! Benefit Show for Todd Ufkes
Stacy Koviak will be performing on June 12th along with some of Kalamazoo's finest to support our good friend (and amazing drummer) Tommy Ufkes' brother Todd.
This special benefit show is for a long time Kalamazoo area musician, Todd Ufkes. Todd was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and is beginning a very costly battle to get well.
The event will be held at the Globe Theatre
Todd comes from a talented family of musicians. He and his brothers Tommy and Tim have played countless shows, together and separately, throughout Southwest Michigan for over 30 years. The brothers Ufkes' bands include - Lovey Howl, Bone China, The Waterladies, Branden Mann and the Reprimand, Stacey Koviak and more...
We are asking local musicians and music lovers to show their support by attending the show and donating what they can - it will be a great evening of entertainment!
The show is scheduled for Saturday, June12th, 2010 7pm-12pm at The Globe Theatre (downstairs at Shakespeare's Pub) 241 East Kalamazoo Avenue Kalamazoo, MI 49007-3869 (269) 488-7782 *THANKS to the kind people at the Globe Theatre for donating the use of their venue.
Todd's brother Tommy will be performing with members of his current bands Lovey Howl, Branden Mann and the Reprimand, Dooley Noted, Fishlips and The Bullfighters. Performances from members of Todd's song writing class and other local musicians will be part of the show as well.
There will be a $3 cover and a box for donations. All proceeds will be donated to assist in his battle against Leukemia.
Todd, his wife Shannon and children, Zach and Abbey, thank you in advance for your participation.

Dooley Noted (the band I play bass guitar in)was recently nominated for FOUR Jammie Awards!!!
What is Jammie ? (you might be wondering)
Well,
a "Jammie" is equivalent to a "Grammy" and they honor best bands / artists in West Michigan music scene.
On top of the honor of being nominated, we've also been asked to perform at the
Jammie Awards show honoring local and regional artists, presented by WYCE-FM (88.1)
The Awards Show will be at the Intersection in Grand Rapids, Michigan on February 17th 2009.
A few more details about the 10th annual Jammies:--
-- The all-ages show will run 6-11 p.m., and as usual, admission is free. Folks are still encouraged to wear pajamas, as in jammies!!!
-- WYCE plans a meet-and-greet area in the front lounge
-- Look for details on a new "Listeners' Choice Award" that will be based on public Internet voting! (once we know where I'll have a link posted so you can go vote for us!)
